REINO DE LOS NIÑOS

The Tree of Life Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization guided by Gabriel Cousens, has recently taken on a dynamic role in supporting Reino de los Niños orphanage in Hermosillo, Mexico. The orphanage, located several miles from the U.S.-Mexico border and an hour from the Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center in Patagonia, Ariz., is a refuge for orphans of all ages from infancy to college age throughout the Sonoran region of Mexico.

The Tree of Life Foundation's support includes an ongoing mission to upgrade Reino de los Niños' facility and services to support the health and well-being of all who live there. Gabriel Cousens, Shanti Golds Cousens and volunteers from the Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center make regular visits to the center offering resources, services, and support. These visits include connecting with the children, providing live food nutrition and preparation instruction to the orphanage staff and leading meditations.

In harmony with the center's leaders, Gabriel has created a vortex of healing at the orphanage that radiates out to the entire local Sonora region. Plans to transform the center's facility include the creation of organic, sustainable produce gardens that will nourish the center and local community. This is in alignment with the Foundation's mission to provide the tools for the children and the center to become leading agents of positive change within their local community. Also in the spirit of self-empowerment, The Foundation has created scholarship funds to provide the teenage orphans access to college educations. These scholarships will help break the cycle of inequality and allow bright, motivated scholars, to use their educations to empower themselves in order to give back to their community.

Service (Sheirut) and Charity (Tzedaka), part of Gabriel Cousens' Six Foundations for leading a spiritual life, teaches us that in the process of service and charity, we are able to feel our connection to all of the family of humanity. This helps to expand consciousness through the direct experience.
